        "content": "<p>Indonesian boxers advance<\/p>\n<p>Fadli, The Jakarta Post, Batam<\/p>\n<p>Four Indonesian boxers advanced to the semifinals in the 20th<br>\nPresident's Cup here on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Light-flyweight hopeful Destesa Moniaga defeated Imran Hafeeq<br>\nof Pakistan 19-13, while Dadan Amanda brushed aside MDK<br>\nWanniarachchi of Sri Lanka 24-15 in the featherweight match.<\/p>\n<p>Another Indonesian featherweight fighter, Daud Yordan, totally<br>\ndominated Nguyen Kien Cuong of Vietnam to take his match 22-6.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, welterweight contender Mifta Rivai Lubis scored a<br>\n20-10 victory over Vietnamese fighter Du Duc Thanh.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Indonesians will face a tough task ahead with<br>\nSouth Korean boxers their next opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Destesa will take on Hong Moo-won, while Dadan and Mifta are<br>\nup against Seo Dong-sik and Ha Jung-kwen, respectively and Daud<br>\nwill try to tackle Murat Airmassov of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n<p>The only Indonesian boxer who couldn't do the job was Rionando<br>\nButar Butar.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the full support from a home crowd at the Tumenggung<br>\nJamal Sports Hall, Rionando, Indonesia's silver medalist at the<br>\n2003 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, crashed out to Godfrey Castro<br>\nof the Philippines 28-20.<\/p>\n<p>Other boxers through to the semifinals were Japanese fighters<br>\nToshiyoki Igarashi and Satoshi Osono; and Ayatullah of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesian team manager and boxing commentator Syamsul Anwar<br>\nHarahap said the Indonesian boxers showed less boxing quality<br>\ntoday than their forerunners.<\/p>\n<p>\"In the past, they rose to boxing stage because they wanted to<br>\nmake it their pastime. Their talent helped make them strong<br>\nboxers.
