Four Indonesian Air Force personnel face dishonorable discharge following the fatal assault of Sergeant AMF. The suspects are facing various criminal charges related to military assault, with potential prison sentences of up to nine years.

The Commander of the Air Force Military Police Centre, Air Vice
Marshal Daan Sulfi, has stated that four soldiers involved in the
assault that led to the death of Sergeant AMF are facing dishonorable
discharge (PTDH).

Dismissal is a likely outcome because the suspects are facing charges
that carry prison sentences of more than one year. “A threat of
punishment of over six months is sufficient for dismissal. This is even
more certain given the threats range from over one year up to nine
years,” Daan said during a press conference at the Air Force Military
Police headquarters in East Jakarta on Wednesday.

The suspects are charged under several articles related to assault
resulting in death. These include Article 131 paragraph 3 of the
Military Criminal Code in conjunction with the Indonesian Criminal Code,
regarding military assault causing death, which carries a maximum
sentence of nine years. Other charges include premeditated grievous
bodily harm resulting in death, carrying a maximum of nine years, and
assault resulting in death, carrying a maximum of seven years.

Nevertheless, the authorities will leave the final verdict regarding
dismissal and imprisonment to the military court judges. Currently, the
focus remains on completing the case files for submission to the
military prosecutor to ensure the legal process proceeds to trial.

Previously, Daan explained the chronology of the assault. The
incident began when one suspect, Sergeant MTS, called his junior,
Sergeant RP, on Tuesday (8/9). During the call, RP unilaterally hung up,
which offended MTS. MTS subsequently requested that RP, along with
colleagues AMF and ZN, meet him at the Galaxy Mess of the Air Force
Psychological Service at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Wednesday
(9/9).

The meeting was intended for MTS to provide
",
