Indonesia wants friendly solution to Sudan crisis<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): President Soeharto said here yesterday Indonesia
\nwishes to see a stable Sudan and expressed the hope that
\ndifferences with its neighbors could be solved in a friendly
\natmosphere.<\/p>\n
The President, when receiving the credentials of the new
\nSudanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Hassan Ibrahim Gad El Karim,
\nsaid: \"All countries should respect each other and not intervene
\nin other countries' internal affairs.\"<\/p>\n
Soeharto said that although Indonesia was busy with various
\ndevelopment programs, \"we always follow the events around us
\nincluding those in Africa.\"<\/p>\n
Sudan is in dispute with Ethiopia and Eritrea after they gave
\nsupport to Sudanese rebels.<\/p>\n
President Soeharto also accepted the credentials of the new
\nBangladeshi Ambassador to Indonesia, Zia-Us-Shams-Chowdhury
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
To Chowdhury, the President said that Indonesia and Bangladesh
\nneeded to improve bilateral cooperation, particularly through the
\ntwo countries' private sectors.<\/p>\n
\"In regional forums, (Bangladeshi's) hopes to promote
\ncooperation between the regions of South Asia and Southeast Asia
\nare not only interesting, but have actually developed into an
\ninevitable trend in the globalization era.\" (swe)<\/p>",
