Indonesia vs Lebanon in Davis Cup<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian men's tennis team will leave for
\nBeirut today to challenge Lebanon in the Group I Asia Oceania
\nDavis Cup playoff.<\/p>\n
Indonesian Tennis Association deputy secretary-general
\nSubiyanto SP said yesterday that the playoff would take place
\nfrom July 17 to July 19 at the Lebanese capital's Zouk Mikail
\nIndoor Stadium.<\/p>\n
Veterans Bonit Wiryawan and Sulistyo Wibowo, accompanied by
\nnewcomer Febi Widhiyanto and non-playing captain Deddy Prasetyo,
\nwill fly from Jakarta, while Indonesia's top player, Andrian
\nRaturandang, will join the squad from Germany.<\/p>\n
The Lebanese team consists of Jicham Zastini, Ali Hamadah,
\nGassan Achbar and Alex Zakkaria, with Karim Assoundd as their
\nnon-playing captain.<\/p>\n
Indonesia has to win the playoff to stay alive in the group. A
\nloss would bring on a promotional match against the winner
\nbetween South Korea and China.<\/p>\n
Indonesia lost 0-5 to New Zealand here last year.<\/p>\n
Subiyanto had said the association faced financial problems in
\nsending the squad, but an anonymous oil businessman has provided
