Trade and other cooperation are\nconducted under a free and active policy. There is no\ninterference. Our president has made that clear,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Pasaribu reiterated that expanding trade and investment cooperation\ndoes not translate into external influence over Indonesia\u2019s economic\ndecisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur independence is our own matter. There is no interference.\nHowever, communication in trade and investment must remain open,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>He said broader international engagement is aimed at improving\nIndonesia\u2019s investment climate and sharpening its economic cooperation\nstrategies to enhance competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>On the relaxation of Domestic Component Level (TKDN) requirements for\nseveral US companies, Pasaribu said the move forms part of the\ngovernment\u2019s broader strategic approach and would not significantly\naffect domestic investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is part of a strategic policy.
