A Special Staff member of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,\nTri Tharyat, stated that the Indonesian government is encouraging\ncooperation regarding digital payment systems among BRICS nations. He\nnoted that Indonesia possesses a flagship product, namely QRIS.<\/p>\n
\u201cCertainly, immediately following this summit, we will push for\ntechnical cooperation once again. We are also promoting interoperability\nwithin digital payment systems,\u201d Tri said during a press conference at\nthe Ministry of Foreign and International Affairs office in Central\nJakarta on Thursday (17\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n
Tri mentioned that Indonesia has been in communication with India\nduring the 2026 BRICS Summit. He noted that India also possesses its own\ndigital payment system.<\/p>\n
\u201cI recently learned that there, QR codes are not necessary; instead,\npeer-to-peer transfers can be conducted using only mobile numbers,\nallowing transfers without the parties involved needing to hold a bank\naccount,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that Indonesia has a flagship product in QRIS and is\npushing for its use across borders. \u201cTherefore, I believe things like\nthis could serve as a good example. However, as one of our flagship\nproducts, namely QRIS, we will promote international cooperation,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
