Hidayat has said that the government is conceiving the idea of producing cheap cars domestically.<\/p>\n<p>The sedan will be a low cost green car and will be marketed at the price of around Rp80 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our dream, after having an automotive industry assembling and export for 40 years. This is also for our national pride,\u201d he said in Jakarta last week.<\/p>\n<p>The sedan produced by the joint venture will have a specific capacity of 1.000 cc with a fuel consumption of 22 kilometer per liter.<\/p>\n<p>Around 80 percent of its components are locally produced.<\/p>\n<p>Hidayat said that he visited several renowned car producers abroad to discuss the plan.<\/p>\n<p>He estimates that the Indonesian designed car will be completed by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hidayat, the segment of sedan cars is still vast, especially for the middle-up class and young people.
