        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has\nconfirmed it will leverage all platforms within the international\nmechanism, including BRICS, to promote peace in the Middle East and an\nend to the conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn various forums and opportunities, we strive to push for\nimprovements in global conditions, including in the Middle East region,\u201d\nsaid Director General for Asia Pacific and Africa at the Ministry of\nForeign Affairs, Santo Darmosumarto, in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Following the China-Indonesia Media and Think Tank Forum 2026, Santo\nstated that his ministry will continue to monitor developments in\nnegotiations between the United States and Iran, as well as between\nIsrael and Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia also respects the decisions of the conflicting parties to\ndetermine their own platforms for peace negotiations, such as Iran and\nthe US using Pakistan as a mediator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe various efforts made in these forums are hoped to complement the\ninitiatives being undertaken by the relevant parties,\u201d Santo said.<\/p>\n<p>He further assured that Indonesia will always actively advocate for\npeace on any platform of which the country is a member.<\/p>\n<p>This statement follows an announcement by the Iranian Foreign\nMinister, who noted progress in diplomatic efforts between the US and\nIran, facilitated by Qatar and Pakistan. In a joint statement, Qatar and\nPakistan also conveyed that the parties agreed to establish a joint\ncoordination mechanism, involving Lebanon, to ensure compliance with the\ncessation of military operations in Lebanon as per the memorandum\nreached by the US and Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The parties have reportedly also agreed to form a High-Level\nCommittee to oversee the implementation of the signed Islamabad\nMemorandum of Understanding.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a new round of direct negotiations between Lebanon and\nIsrael is currently underway in Washington, D.C., United States, from 23\nto 25 June.<\/p>",
