        "content": "<p>The government is targeting increased investment from the United Arab\nEmirates (UAE) to support food security, strengthen national supply\nchains, and develop infrastructure. This move comes amid efforts to\nencourage investment capable of sustaining long-term economic\ngrowth.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated\nthat the UAE is one of Indonesia\u2019s strategic partners in the Middle East\nwith a continuously developing economic relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia welcomes the commitment of the UAE and global business\nplayers such as Louis Dreyfus Company to expand economic cooperation in\nIndonesia. We encourage increased investment that supports downstream\nprocessing, food security, and the strengthening of national supply\nchains,\u201d Airlangga said on Sunday (15\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Airlangga, the implementation of the Indonesia-United\nArab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-UAE CEPA)\nis expected to strengthen trade and investment flows between the two\ncountries.<\/p>\n<p>The government also expressed support for the development of business\nactivities by UAE-based companies already operating in Indonesia,\nincluding Louis Dreyfus Company, which has invested for 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>During the bilateral meeting, the UAE conveyed several new investment\ncommitments. One of these comes from Abu Dhabi Export (ADEX), which will\nfocus on the food security sector.<\/p>\n<p>This commitment is considered to reflect UAE investor confidence in\nthe prospects of Indonesia\u2019s food and agribusiness sector while\nstrengthening the economic partnership between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the food sector, investment cooperation is also directed\ntowards infrastructure. Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP) expressed readiness to\nsupport the development of airports in Bali through the implementation\nof a feasibility study.<\/p>\n<p>UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri said Indonesia\nis one of the UAE\u2019s main partners in Southeast Asia and has great\npotential to expand economic cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UAE sees Indonesia as an important partner in the Southeast\nAsian region and is open to expanding collaboration in various economic\nsectors,\u201d Abdulla said.<\/p>\n<p>The governments of Indonesia and the UAE agreed to maintain intensive\ncommunication to ensure that the various investment commitments can be\nrealised. Both countries are also working to accelerate the\nimplementation of priority projects deemed capable of supporting\nsustainable economic growth.<\/p>",
