        "content": "<p>\u201cThis year, we are targeting the revitalization of around 71,744\nschools across the country,\u201d Minister of Primary and Secondary Education\nAbdul Mu\u2019ti said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the school revitalization program is part of the\ngovernment\u2019s efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in all\nregions, including buffer areas surrounding the country\u2019s future\ncapital, Nusantara.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 341 schools in East Kalimantan have been deemed eligible\nto receive assistance for facility improvements out of 806 proposals\nsubmitted for the 2026 program.<\/p>\n<p>The minister urged school principals receiving the assistance to\nmanage the funds transparently and responsibly, emphasizing that the\nrevitalization program is a public mandate aimed at improving learning\nenvironments and ensuring student safety.<\/p>\n<p>According to ministry records, at least 286 schools in East\nKalimantan received revitalization assistance in 2025, and renovation\nwork at all recipient schools has been completed.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 school revitalization program covered schools in Balikpapan,\nSamarinda, and North Penajam Paser District, with a total budget\nallocation of Rp253.75 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The facility improvements covered educational institutions ranging\nfrom early childhood education (PAUD) to equivalency education programs.\nIn Balikpapan, 16 schools received assistance worth Rp13.60 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 34 schools in North Penajam Paser District received\nassistance amounting to Rp22.30 billion, while 52 schools in Samarinda\nreceived a total of Rp59.53 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The school revitalization program, he said, is a proof of the state\u2019s\ncommitment to ensuring that every child has access to a proper, safe,\nand quality educational environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe improvement of school facilities and infrastructure, especially\nin East Kalimantan, is part of the government\u2019s commitment to\nstrengthening educational services in areas supporting the development\nof Nusantara Capital City,\u201d Mu\u2019ti remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia to revitalize ECE schools for 13-year\ncompulsory education<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Minister highlights equal education rights for children\nnationwide<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Nyaman, Kenzu<\/p>",
