        "content": "<p>Speaking at Indonesia\u2019s Green Jobs Conference 2026 in Jakarta on\nWednesday, Yassierli pointed to a paradox in Indonesia\u2019s job market,\nwhere youth unemployment (ages 15\u201324) reached 17.4 percent, while 48\npercent of companies reported difficulty finding workers with the\nrequired skills.<\/p>\n<p>He cited the World Economic Forum\u2019s (WEF) 2025 Future of Jobs Report,\nrevealed 54 percent of companies in Indonesia identify the skills gap as\na major obstacle to their business.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the issue is an urgent challenge, Yassierli noted,\nemphasising Indonesia must focus not only on job creation but also on\nensuring decent work.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia to expand vocational training with 19 new\ncenters in 2027<\/p>\n<p>According to him, closer alignment is needed between education and\ntraining programmes and industry demands to ensure the workforce meets\nmarket needs.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the demand-driven approach, he cited the establishment of\nan aerospace training center in Bandung, which is tailored specifically\nto the needs of state aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI),\nwhere labor demand is projected at 500 to 1,000 workers.<\/p>\n<p>Clear labor demand projections from industry, he noted, allow the\ngovernment to design appropriately targeted training programmes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the demand is clear, we will support it. The national\nunemployment rate stood at 4.65 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Based on their educational attainment, the majority of the workforce\nholds an elementary or junior high school education, accounting for\n50.52 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Senior high school and vocational high school graduates comprised\n32.27 percent, while university graduates accounted for 12.56\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, data from the August 2025 Sakernas showed 76.5 percent of\nuniversity graduates hold jobs in the formal sector.
