Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has\nassured that the national LPG supply remains secure amid adjustments to\nenergy import sources. The government is redirecting LPG supplies\npreviously sourced from the Middle East to several other countries to\nensure the sustainability of domestic supply.<\/p>\n
Bahlil stated that this redirection is part of the government\u2019s\nstrategy to strengthen national energy resilience. The government is\npreparing several alternative supply options to keep energy needs for\nthe public and business sectors intact amid global market dynamics.<\/p>\n
\u201cLPG? Up to now, insyaallah, with our prayers, it remains safe,\u201d said\nthe ESDM Minister in Jakarta on Monday (6\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
Bahlil explained that the government is not only focusing on LPG\navailability but also ensuring that the national energy supply chain\nremains flexible. According to him, adjusting import sources is an\nimportant step so that Indonesia does not become overly dependent on one\nsupplier region.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that LPG supplies from the Middle East have now been\nredirected to several alternative countries. This redirection aligns\nwith the government\u2019s strategy to maintain energy supply stability amid\nchanges in international market conditions.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause what we took from the Middle East has already been\nredirected to other countries, yes, like in America, in Australia,\nseveral other countries,\u201d Bahlil said.<\/p>\n
He added that a similar pattern is being applied to crude oil\nsupplies. The government is beginning to adjust import sources from the\nMiddle East region to several countries in Africa, such as Angola and\nNigeria, to broaden supply options.<\/p>\n
Bahlil stated that this step cannot be separated from the global\nenergy situation that demands the government to be more adaptive. In\nconditions like the current ones, the government must ensure that\nsupplies remain available and are not disrupted by international trade\ndynamics.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the government is also opening options for\nimporting fuel oil (BBM) from various countries. He assessed that this\napproach is necessary because the government\u2019s main priority is to\nmaintain domestic energy availability, rather than just determining the\norigin country of the supplier.<\/p>\n
Bahlil revealed that competition for energy supplies in the global\nmarket is also becoming increasingly tight. According to him, goods that\nhave already entered the tender process can still shift to other buyers\nif there is a higher price offer.<\/p>\n
The government is also continuing diversification efforts through the\nimplementation of B50, scheduled to take effect on 1 July 2026.
