Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,\nGibran Rakabuming Raka, has expressed his full support for AI training\nprograms for MSME actors, in line with Indonesia\u2019s designation as the\ncountry with the largest target number of participants in the AIM ASEAN\nprogram.<\/p>\n
The Vice Presidential Secretariat (Setwapres) in Jakarta, informed\nthat this support was conveyed by Vice President Gibran when receiving a\ndelegation from the ASEAN Foundation at the Vice Presidential Palace,\nJakarta, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndonesia is one of the main focuses of the program, given the\nsignificant contribution of MSMEs to the national economy,\u201d said a\nstatement from Setwapres.<\/p>\n
Indonesia has been designated as the country with the largest target\nnumber of participants in the AIM ASEAN program because it has the\npotential for 44,000 MSMEs out of a total of 100,000 MSMEs in the eleven\nASEAN countries.<\/p>\n
Legal Coordinator and Project Manager of AIM ASEAN, Eci Ernawati,\nexplained that in Indonesia, this program is being implemented in\ncollaboration with local partners, including KUMPUL Impact and Kaizen\nRoom.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Vice President stated that for AI training activities,\nespecially for MSMEs, throughout Indonesia, he will provide support,\nboth in terms of access for MSMEs, and also in terms of venues, and we\nwill also provide support in terms of knowledge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
According to her, this support is a strong signal of the government\u2019s\ncommitment to strengthening the capacity of small business actors so\nthat they can adapt to the development of digital technology.<\/p>\n
AI training, said Eci, not only helps MSMEs in improving business\nefficiency, but also opens up opportunities for product innovation,\ndata-driven marketing, and expanding market access.<\/p>\n
In addition to AIM ASEAN, the meeting also presented the AI Ready\nASEAN Program, which targets 5.5 million individuals throughout ASEAN\ncountries, including teachers, youth, and parents. This program is\ndesigned with an inclusive approach, with special attention to\nvulnerable groups.<\/p>\n
Project Manager of AI Ready ASEAN, Diera Gala Paksi, said that the\nprogram received a positive response from the Vice President because it\nis in line with the national human resource development agenda.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Vice President is quite enthusiastic about this program,\nespecially since it is also in line with the government\u2019s Asta Cita,\nespecially the empowerment of human resources, and also provides good\nsupport for the implementation of this program,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She said that the implementation of the program will target\ninfrastructure aspects, especially in terms of inclusivity, where\nstudents, communities in remote areas, and other marginalized groups\nwill also be involved.<\/p>\n
Specifically for MSMEs, Diera emphasized the importance of program\nsustainability through policy support and strong collaboration between\nthe government and implementing partners.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very grateful for the support from the Vice President and we\nare also quite helped. Of course, this is also in line with the AI Ready\nASEAN program, where we are not only focused on the grassroots level,\nbut how to make this program more sustainable with support from the\ngovernment, of course, in terms of policy and other support,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Through the strengthening of AI literacy and training that targets\nthe general public and business actors, it is hoped that Indonesia will\nnot only be a technology market, but also be able to build digital\nsovereignty based on superior human resource capacity.<\/p>\n
