        "content": "<p>Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said the effort\nis being led by Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir through a\nseries of meetings with partners from the Organization of African,\nCaribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe discussions focused on bilateral relations and garnering support\nfor Indonesia\u2019s candidacy for the UN Security Council for the 2029\u20132030\nperiod,\u201d Nabyl said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the outreach took place on the sidelines of the OACPS Summit\nin Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, held on March 27\u201329.<\/p>\n<p>During the summit, Nasir held talks with the presidents of Sudan and\nGabon to strengthen bilateral ties and seek backing for Indonesia\u2019s\ncandidacy.<\/p>\n<p>He also met with the foreign ministers of Botswana, Seychelles, Sao\nTome and Principe, and Equatorial Guinea to discuss similar issues,\nNabyl added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to lobbying efforts, the deputy minister participated in\ndialogue sessions with strategic partners and delivered statements on\nshared priorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne key message was to encourage stronger cooperation and solidarity\namong African, Pacific and Caribbean countries amid current geopolitical\nuncertainty,\u201d Nabyl said.<\/p>\n<p>Nasir also highlighted Indonesia\u2019s interest in collaborating on\ndigital sovereignty, technological resilience, the blue economy and\nclimate resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign forms part of Indonesia\u2019s broader diplomatic push to\nsecure international support ahead of the election.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign Minister Sugiono formally announced the candidacy on Jan.\u00a014\nduring the ministry\u2019s annual press statement.<\/p>\n<p>He said Indonesia would immediately begin outreach to partner\ncountries to build backing for the bid.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia has previously served four terms as a non-permanent UNSC\nmember: 1973\u20131974, 1995\u20131996, 2007\u20132008, and 2019\u20132021.<\/p>\n<p>The country also held the rotating presidency of the council in\nAugust 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia urges UNSC meeting over attacks on\npeacekeepers<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia seeks non-permanent UN Security Council seat\nfor 2029\u20132030<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Nabil Ihsan, Katriana<\/p>",
