The support was confirmed during his talks with Swiss President Guy\nParmelin on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting 2026\nin Paris, France, according to a statement cited in Jakarta on\nFriday.<\/p>\n
Airlangga explained that the assistance would be translated into a\nbilateral cooperation program through 2028, covering \u201cthree crucial\nareas,\u201d including governance improvements within Indonesian state-owned\nenterprises (SOEs).<\/p>\n
He added that the program extends to capacity-building initiatives to\npromote compliance with the OECD Responsible Business Conduct and\nsupport for Indonesia\u2019s accession to the OECD Anti-Bribery\nConvention.<\/p>\n
Indonesia, he continued, has mobilized more than 60 ministries and\nstate agencies to study 240 OECD legal instruments to ensure meaningful\nadherence to the organization\u2019s standards.<\/p>\n
In addition to discussing OECD membership, the two countries explored\nopportunities to step up economic cooperation, highlighting plans to\nsign a non-binding memorandum of understanding on minerals and metals on\nJune 23, 2026.<\/p>\n
The cooperation is expected to extend partnerships to critical\nminerals that have become strategic commodities in the global energy\ntransition.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Airlangga drew attention to Indonesia\u2019s ongoing SOE\nstructural reform aimed at reducing the number of state-run business\nentities in pursuit of efficiency.<\/p>\n
In this regard, he said that sovereign wealth fund Danantara issues\ninternational bonds to attract foreign capital.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndonesia will work with Switzerland to adopt global best practices,\nleveraging Switzerland\u2019s market expertise,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He went on to say that Indonesia and Switzerland had agreed to\nintensify coordination to strengthen energy and food resilience amid\nsouring geopolitics in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
On that note, the minister underscored Indonesia\u2019s successful energy\ndiversification strategy, reflected in the fact that Saudi Arabia\naccounts for only 20 percent of Indonesia\u2019s oil imports, with the\nremainder sourced from the United States, Nigeria, Angola, and\nGabon.<\/p>\n
Moreover, he emphasized that Indonesia had achieved self-sufficiency\nin certain food commodities and secured sufficient fertilizer stocks,\nenabling exports to Australia.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Indonesia\u2019s Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and the\nSwiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs signed a memorandum of\nunderstanding on the development of smart grids and battery storage\ntechnologies to optimize Indonesia\u2019s solar energy potential.<\/p>\n
