        "content": "<p>Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the initiative aims\nto upgrade domestic shipyards, improve workforce skills and develop\njoint shipbuilding projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCooperation in the shipping industry with Russia offers Indonesia an\nopportunity to strengthen its maritime industry through investment,\ntechnology transfer, workforce development and joint production,\u201d Agus\nsaid in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the partnership would combine Russia\u2019s advanced maritime\ntechnology with Indonesia\u2019s strong domestic demand.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia aims to be industrial partner, not just\nmarket: minister<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia, an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands, depends\nheavily on shipping for logistics, fisheries, offshore energy and\ninter-island transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Russia has extensive expertise in maritime development, including\ncommercial ship design and construction, advanced propulsion systems and\ncomplex marine engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry said the strengths of both countries complement each\nother in building a more resilient shipping industry.<\/p>\n<p>It added that bilateral cooperation opportunities have expanded\nfollowing the signing of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free\nTrade Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is expected to boost trade, investment, industrial\npartnerships and technology exchanges between Indonesia and members of\nthe Eurasian Economic Union.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Yekaterinburg on Wednesday, Director General for\nIndustrial Resilience, Regionalization and International Industrial\nAccess Tri Supondy said both countries could benefit from closer\ncooperation.<\/p>\n<p>He said Indonesia offers a large market and expanding industrial\ncapacity, while Russia contributes technological expertise and broad\nexperience in building various types of vessels.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia, Russia deepen IP partnership to boost\ninnovation<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Ahmad Muzdaffar Fauzan, Yashinta Difa<\/p>",
