        "content": "<p>Speaking at the opening of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on\nthe 2026 Hajj Evaluation in Jakarta on Saturday, Yusuf said one of the\nkey innovations was a fairer distribution of Hajj quotas among\nprovinces.<\/p>\n<p>The government also reduced the Hajj pilgrimage cost by around Rp2\nmillion (approximately US$111) and introduced the distribution of Nusuk\nCards to Indonesian pilgrims before their departure.<\/p>\n<p>He said these improvements had provided direct benefits to pilgrims,\nalthough further refinements would be made based on the results of the\nevaluation.<\/p>\n<p>According to Yusuf, the 2026 National Working Meeting on Hajj\nEvaluation provides an opportunity to identify shortcomings in this\nyear\u2019s pilgrimage operations and formulate measures to improve future\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia concludes 2026 Hajj operation, vows service\nupgrades<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that all weaknesses must be assessed transparently to\nenhance the quality of Hajj services and ensure future pilgrimage\noperations are better prepared and more effective.<\/p>\n<p>Yusuf acknowledged that healthcare services for pilgrims remain an\narea requiring serious attention. Although pilgrim mortality rates\ndropped by approximately 25 percent from the previous year, the figure\nis still considered high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA death toll of around 350 is still significant. Moving forward, one\nof our main tasks will be strengthening health istitha\u2019ah (physical and\nmental fitness for Hajj),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also identified services in Mina, Saudi Arabia, as one of the main\nchallenges during this year\u2019s Hajj operations and called on all\nofficials within the ministry to prepare concrete measures to improve\nconditions for future pilgrimages.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the evaluation, Yusuf said the Ministry of Hajj and\nUmrah will organize a staff retreat to strengthen workforce\npreparedness.
