        "content": "<p>Indonesia\u2019s creative industry is preparing to bolster its presence on\nthe global stage through the participation of the Indonesia Design\nDistrict (IDD) PIK2 in the world\u2019s most prestigious international design\nexhibition, Salone del Mobile, in Milan, Italy. This largest global\nfurniture exhibition will take place from 21 to 26 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>IDD PIK2 will present a collaborative booth titled IDD Pavilion with\nthe theme House of Indonesia. This presence serves as a strategic step\nto introduce the integrated national design ecosystem, from creators and\nbrands to local manufacturing, to a global audience.<\/p>\n<p>CEO of IDD PIK2, Ipeng Widjojo, stated that this participation\nrepresents the private sector in introducing the richness of Indonesia\u2019s\ncreativity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IDD Pavilion is our way of introducing Indonesia as an\nintegrated and collaborative design ecosystem. Through Salone del\nMobile, we hope that the works of Indonesian designers will become\nbetter known and connected with the global design industry,\u201d said Ipeng\nin his statement on Thursday (9\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The IDD Pavilion will feature a curation of selected products from\ndesigner Alvin Tjitrowirjo. Alvin emphasised that the works brought not\nonly highlight aesthetics but also the strength of concepts and material\nquality capable of competing with world standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to show that Indonesia has an ecosystem capable of thinking\nconceptually, designing strongly, and realising it in quality ready to\ncompete on the global stage,\u201d explained Alvin.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the pavilion\u2019s interior design is crafted by Santi\nAlaysius from Domisilium Studio. Santi presents an interpretation of\nspace that reflects the dynamics of Indonesian design collaboration\nthrough a strong visual narrative.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s presence is also strengthened by the participation of\nyoung designers such as Studio Banda, Zulyo Kumara, and Cynthia Margaret\nin the SaloneSatellite category. To expand exposure, IDD is also\nfacilitating the expedition process for the works of these young talents\nto Milan.<\/p>\n<p>This creative diplomacy initiative receives full support from various\nministries, including the Ministry of Creative Economy (EKRAF) and the\nMinistry of Trade. Director of Architecture and Design at Kemenekraf,\nSabar Norma Megawati Pandjaitan, views this event as a golden\nopportunity to increase the value of creative economy exports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe support this activity so that our creative economy is seen by the\nworld and can later be sold abroad.
