Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian\nMigrant Workers (P2MI) Christina Aryani is working to accelerate\ncooperation on the placement of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in\nGreece through a government-to-government (G to G) scheme to broaden job\naccess for PMI.<\/p>\n
In her meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Indonesia, Dimitrios\nMichalopoulos, in Jakarta on Monday (20\/4), Christina followed up on the\nresults of her visit to Greece in November 2025 regarding job\nopportunities for PMI in various sectors in Greece.<\/p>\n
Christina noted that the current need for PMI in Greece is quite\nsubstantial, especially in strategic sectors, one of which is the\nhospitality industry, which could provide concrete opportunities for the\nlegal placement of migrant workers.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we are encouraging the process of discussing the G to G\nMoU (memorandum of understanding) to begin as soon as possible. We also\nrequest the Ambassador\u2019s support to convey this to the relevant parties\nin Greece,\u201d said Christina in a statement received in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n
The P2MI Ministry continues to commit to ensuring that every overseas\njob opportunity runs safely, in a structured manner, and provides\nmaximum protection for prospective PMI.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis cooperation is expected to become one of the concrete entry\npoints for Indonesian workers to pursue careers abroad in a legal and\nprofessional manner,\u201d said Christina.<\/p>\n
