Indonesia plans to double its urea fertilizer exports to\nAustralia to 500,000 tons under a cooperation scheme valued at around Rp\n7 trillion ($398.2 million), a senior government official said.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia previously completed its first fertilizer shipment to\nAustralia, totaling 47,250 tons, valued at approximately Rp 600\nbillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur initial plan is to export 250,000 tons to Australia and later\nincrease it to 500,000 tons,\u201d Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman\nsaid in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Amran added that several other countries have also begun expressing\ninterest in Indonesian fertilizer products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Indian ambassador contacted me directly requesting 500,000 tons,\nand several other countries are also interested, including the\nPhilippines, Brazil, Bangladesh, and others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said the government is currently pushing ahead with a\nmajor revitalization of the national fertilizer industry through seven\nstrategic projects with a total investment reaching Rp 72.84\ntrillion.<\/p>\n<p>The program involves several state-linked fertilizer producers,\nincluding Pupuk Indonesia, Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, Pupuk Kalimantan\nTimur, Petrokimia Gresik, and Pupuk Kujang.<\/p>\n<p>According to Amran, the modernization program aims to replace older,\nenergy-intensive factories with newer and more efficient facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Production costs at the new plants are estimated to be around 26%\nlower than at older facilities, helping improve competitiveness and\nsupport Indonesia\u2019s ambition to expand fertilizer exports to global\nmarkets.<\/p>\n<p>Tags: Keywords:<\/p>",
