        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investment and Downstream Minister Rosan Perkasa\nRoeslani is optimistic that European companies will expand and invest in\nIndonesia after the Indonesia-European Union comprehensive economic\nagreement (I-EU CEPA), targeted for signing in September 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Roeslani stated that the CEPA between Indonesia and the European\nUnion will create investment opportunities from the 27 EU member\ncountries and give Indonesia greater access to the EU market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope to receive more positive responses from the investment\nsector. Most investments coming into Indonesia have been from the\nNetherlands. French companies, such as L\u2019Oreal, have already made some\nother investments,\u201d he noted in a statement on Sunday, as quoted from a\nvideo recording on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked that the economic agreement is also expected to increase\ntrade between the two parties, from US$30 billion to US$60 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the comprehensive economic agreement will offer an\nalternative market for Indonesia, especially amid current geopolitical\nand geoeconomic uncertainties, the minister noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmid this increasing geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainty, we\nare expanding and diversifying our markets. There will be 27 EU\ncountries ratifying this agreement,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto announced the completion of the I-EU CEPA\nnegotiations during a press conference with European Commission\nPresident Ursula von der Leyen at the European Commission Office in\nBerlaymont Building, Brussels, on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia and the European Union have been negotiating the terms of\ncooperation for the CEPA for about a decade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter 10 years of negotiations, we have finalised the Comprehensive\nEconomic Agreement (CEPA), which is essentially a free market agreement.\nWe have reached many agreements, aimed at accommodating each other\u2019s\neconomic interests, and we have found that these interests are mutually\nbeneficial,\u201d the president stated at the press conference.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement was positively received by President von der Leyen\nand European Council President Ant\u00f3nio Costa, two EU leaders whom\nPresident Prabowo met in Brussels on Sunday. The two meetings were part\nof his overseas visit to Brussels that began Saturday (July 12).<\/p>",
