Indonesia has not appeared on the International Labour Conference's (ILC) case list for two years in a row, according to the Manpower Minister. This achievement highlights the country's commitment to upholding international labour standards and maintaining harmonious industrial relations. The minister credited robust social dialogue between the government, workers, and employers for this result.

Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli stated that
Indonesia has not been listed on the case list, whether the ‘long list’
or ‘short list of country cases,’ at the International Labour Conference
(ILC) for two consecutive years.

In a statement received in Badung, Bali, on Wednesday, the minister
said this achievement is evidence of Indonesia’s commitment to meeting
international labour standards, whilst maintaining harmonious and
constructive industrial relations. He noted that this success is
inseparable from the joint efforts of the government, workers/labourers,
and employers in building social dialogue.

‘This achievement reflects that social dialogue in Indonesia is
realised and that harmonious and constructive industrial relations are
maintained among labour stakeholders,’ said Minister Yassierli. The
minister conveyed that this achievement is important for the public
because conducive industrial relations have a direct impact on the daily
working world.

When workers, employers, and the government have a healthy space for
dialogue, labour issues can be discussed more openly, work-related
problems have clear resolution channels, and business continuity can be
preserved.

Meanwhile, the minister also stressed the importance of the
solidarity of the Indonesian Tripartite Delegation at the 114th ILC. He
assessed that the composition of representatives from workers,
employers, and the government shows that Indonesia places social
dialogue as an important part of labour policy formulation.

Policies concerning workers and the business world, the minister
said, need to be developed through the involvement of the parties so
they are fairer, more realistic, and implementable. He considers
tripartite solidarity increasingly important amidst changes in the
global world of work. The development of artificial intelligence (AI),
the platform economy, the green transition, and demographic changes
present new challenges for worker protection, decent job creation, and
business continuity.

‘Therefore, Indonesia views that the transformation of the world of
work needs to be managed inclusively through strengthening social
dialogue, improving workforce skills, expanding social protection, and
implementing labour standards that are adaptive and aligned with
international norms,’ he said.

Meanwhile, several strategic agendas of the 114th ILC are also of
concern to Indonesia, including discussions on decent work standards in
the platform economy, gender equality in the world of work,
strengthening social dialogue and tripartism, as well as reports on the
implementation of ILO conventions and recommendations.

The minister affirmed that Indonesia’s participation in the ILC is
not only to voice national interests but also to strengthen Indonesia’s
contribution to building inclusive, adaptive, and socially just global
labour governance. ‘All Indonesian delegates need to continue
maintaining solidarity, strengthening coordination, and actively
building collaboration with friendly countries during the implementation
of this conference,’ said the minister.
",
