In a statement on Monday, Tito said regional governments could\nimplement the policy through the Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI), or\nIndonesia Shared Spaces, concept, which focuses on empowering and\nprotecting women and children at the village level.<\/p>\n
The concept was formally established through a joint ministerial\ndecree signed by Tito, Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection Minister\nArifah Fauzi, and Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged\nRegions Yandri Susanto at the Ministry of Home Affairs headquarters in\nJakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on this joint decree, women\u2019s empowerment and child protection\nactivities under the RBI concept at the village level will not merely be\nceremonial. We will actively oversee their implementation to ensure they\nbecome mandatory,\u201d Tito said.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that RBI programs must be incorporated into regional\nbudgets and development plans, including the 2027 Regional Government\nWork Plan (RKPD), making their implementation a mandatory responsibility\nfor local governments.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will monitor this closely. If a region fails to include the RBI\nprogram, we will send its draft budget back for revision until the\nprogram is incorporated in accordance with this joint decree,\u201d he\nwarned.<\/p>\n
Tito said women and children continue to face various challenges,\nincluding domestic violence, human trafficking, and harmful behaviors\nthat affect minors.<\/p>\n

Tito said implementing RBI would require collaboration among the\nMinistry of Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection, the Ministry of\nVillages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and the Ministry of\nHome Affairs.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child Protection will focus\non empowerment and protection strategies, while the Ministry of Villages\nwill oversee implementation at the village level. The Ministry of Home\nAffairs will guide regional governments through district heads and\nmayors.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that the joint decree would enable women\u2019s\nempowerment and child protection programs at the village level to be\nimplemented in a more targeted and sustainable manner.<\/p>\n
