        "content": "<p>\u201cWe hope to establish concrete cooperation in developing villages in\nIndonesia, focusing on both local village potential and human\nresources,\u201d Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged\nRegions Yandri Susanto said in a statement received in Jakarta on\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>He received Kuwaiti Ambassador to Indonesia Khalid Jassim Alyassin at\nhis office on Wednesday (August 26).<\/p>\n<p>Yandri said that Indonesia is home to 75,266 villages, each\npossessing diverse potential.<\/p>\n<p>To tap into this, he added, the ministry has introduced 12 village\ndevelopment programs, including the Red and White Village Cooperatives,\nVillage-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), export-oriented villages, and\ntourism villages.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minister, villages in Indonesia still need more\nplaces of worship, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, and\nhuman resource development programs.<\/p>\n<p>He added that villages now play an important role, as President\nPrabowo Subianto made village-based development one of the priorities of\nhis administration, with the aim of promoting economic equality and\neradicating poverty.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister expressed hope that the ministry could establish formal\ncooperation with Kuwait as well as Kuwaiti organizations and\nassociations.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Kuwaiti Ambassador Khalid Jassim Alyassin said\ndiplomatic relations between Kuwait and Indonesia, which date back to\n1968, should be further strengthened through formal cooperation between\nthe two governments.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Kuwait also has private organizations and charities\nthat raise funds to provide assistance to other countries.<\/p>\n<p>This assistance is used to support orphan welfare, construct Islamic\nboarding schools (pesantren) and mosques, as well as provide fishing\nboats to help local fishers earn a decent livelihood.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Prabowo pledges village-level development across East\nNusa Tenggara<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Tri Meilani, Raka Adji<\/p>",
