        "content": "<p>We believe the development of wellness tourism can succeed \u2026Jakarta\n(ANTARA) - Indonesia is focusing on developing high-quality and globally\ncompetitive wellness tourism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWellness tourism has been designated as one of our priorities in\ndeveloping quality tourism,\u201d Indonesia\u2019s Minister of Tourism Widiyanti\nPutri Wardhana said at press conference here on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>She announced that, as part of the effort, the government\u2019s new\n\u201cWonderful Indonesia Wellness\u201d programme will run throughout November\n2026, uniting the Royal Surakarta Wellness Festival and the Jogja\nCultural Wellness Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Surakarta Wellness Festival features activities, such as\nJavanese Wisdom Immersion, Gending for Therapy, Royal Dance Symphony, A\nHoly Journey, and Javanese Secret Recipe.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Jogja Cultural Wellness Festival offers wellness\nsessions, including Healthy Food and Herbals, Eco-Friendly Living,\nSpiritual Wellness and Energy Healing, Natural Beauty, Family and Inner\nChild, and Harmony in Wellness.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia explores China partnership on traditional\nmedicine center<\/p>\n<p>Putri Wardhana explained the development of wellness tourism is\ndriven by the fact that tourism is no longer merely about which\ndestinations people visit, but also about the desire to gain more\nmeaningful experiences.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that as artificial intelligence (AI) technology now\nintegrates into everyday life, a powerful counter-trend is emerging\nwhere people crave authentic, emotionally resonant travel experiences,\ngenuine human interactions, and destinations that leave a lasting\nimpression.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Global Wellness Institute, the global wellness\neconomy reached US$6.8 trillion in 2024 and is projected to grow to\nUS$9.75 trillion by 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a 2025 Nielsen survey found that 86 percent of Indonesians\nare proactively maintaining their health.
