The agreement formally acknowledges\ntheir compliance with Indonesia\u2019s Halal Product Assurance System\n(SJPH).<\/p>\n<p>With this addition, 13 Chinese halal institutions are now recognized\nby BPJPH, extending their certification scope beyond food and beverages\nto include cosmetics, packaging, and distribution services.<\/p>\n<p>The signing followed BPJPH\u2019s April 28 meeting in Jakarta with 18\nChinese halal certification agencies, including FUIN. The dialogue was\naimed at strengthening halal cooperation ahead of Indonesia\u2019s mandatory\nhalal certification policy, which takes effect in October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>BPJPH emphasized that collaboration with China now spans the entire\nhalal ecosystem\u2013from inspection and inventory to packaging and\ndistribution.<\/p>\n<p>Agency head Ahmad Haikal Hasan noted that China was the first country\ninvited to special discussions, given its large number of overseas halal\ninstitutions and the significant volume of products entering\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>China remains Indonesia\u2019s largest trading partner, with imports from\nChina reaching USD 22.1 billion in the first quarter of this year\u2013a 17.3\npercent increase compared with the same period in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond certification, both countries are also advancing halal product\ndevelopment.
