As other countries have leveraged\nmusic as soft power, we envision an \u2018Indonesian wave\u2019 emerging from our\nown musical wealth,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>The minister highlighted Indonesia\u2019s musical strength during an event\nmarking the 2026 National Music Day in Banten on Monday, March 9,\naccording to a statement received on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s celebration carried the theme \u201cIndonesian Tone, World\nResonance,\u201d reflecting the country\u2019s appreciation of its musical\nheritage, rooted in cultural diversity, and its ambition to gain global\nrecognition.<\/p>\n<p>Zon endorsed the theme, stating that Indonesia has the potential to\nbecome a global cultural powerhouse. He underscored the link between its\nheterogeneous population and musical creativity.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that the country is home to 1,340 ethnic groups with\nhundreds of traditional musical instruments that have fueled the growth\nof its music industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesian music, ranging from traditional to contemporary, has huge\npotential for continuous development.
