        "content": "<p>\u201cThis constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and\nrelevant UN resolutions, and represents a direct infringement on the\nlegal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem,\u201d Indonesia\u2019s Foreign\nMinistry said on X on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The condemnation was issued by the foreign ministers of Indonesia and\n17 other countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan,\nTurkiye, Pakistan, Somalia, Palestine, and Kuwait.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement, the ministers reaffirmed their rejection of\nunilateral measures aimed at legitimizing arrangements that violate\ninternational law and relevant United Nations resolutions in occupied\nJerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey reiterate that East Jerusalem has been occupied Palestinian\nterritory since 1967, and that any measures intended to alter its legal\nand historical status are null and void and without legal effect,\u201d the\nministry stated.<\/p>\n<p>The ministers also reaffirmed support for the unity, sovereignty, and\nterritorial integrity of Somalia and rejected unilateral actions\nundermining Somali sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>The condemnation followed Somaliland\u2019s announcement that it plans to\nopen an embassy in Jerusalem, while Israel would establish an embassy in\nSomaliland\u2019s capital, Hargeisa.<\/p>\n<p>Israel became the first country to recognize Somaliland as an\nindependent state in December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 and has since\noperated its own government, currency, and security forces, although it\nremains largely unrecognized internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia does not recognize Somaliland and considers the territory\nan integral part of Somalia.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta opposes secessionist efforts in support of sovereignty,\nterritorial integrity, and regional stability in the Horn of Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia in direct talks with hijackers of MT Honour\n25 ship<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Four Indonesian crew safe after Somalia ship hijacking:\nMoFA<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Yashinta Difa<\/p>",
