        "content": "<p>Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of\nCooperatives stated that physical building construction has been fully\ncompleted for almost 7,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives across the\ncountry.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry\u2019s Deputy for Cooperative Business Development, Panel\nBarus, stated that this figure is part of the 35,000 cooperatives\ncurrently under construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of today, nearly 7,000 are 100 percent complete across\nIndonesia,\u201d he said after delivering a public lecture at the North\nSumatra Muhammadiyah University (UMSU) in Medan, North Sumatra, on\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the physical construction of these village cooperatives\nis being fast-tracked nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Barus added that the completion is expected to reach 30,000 units by\nAugust 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, he stated that the central government is encouraging\nall regions, including North Sumatra, to accelerate the construction\nprocess to optimize the program.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah previously noted that\nthe government is also preparing the workforce to manage these\ncooperatives, with each cooperative expected to recruit 15\u201318 employees\nto support operations.<\/p>\n<p>The positions, which include drivers, security guards, and warehouse\nkeepers, will be prioritized to be filled by local village\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, she asserted that the government will push for the\ninvolvement of social assistance beneficiaries to become village\ncooperative workers.
