        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The Forum Zakat (FOZ) has assessed the Indonesia Berdaya\ncollaborative initiative as a significant platform bringing together\nphilanthropic organisations and government agencies to jointly address\nthe challenge of eliminating extreme poverty in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia Berdaya serves as a shared space uniting the strength of\ngovernment, zakat institutions, and philanthropic organisations to work\ntogether in tackling poverty,\u201d stated FOZ Chairman Wildhan Dewayana in a\nstatement released in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Coordinating\nMinistry for Community Empowerment, the Forum Zakat (FOZ), the National\nZakat Collection Agency (BAZNAS), and several Islamic philanthropic\ninstitutions agreed to establish the Indonesia Berdaya programme to\naddress poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Dewayana noted that the national zakat potential is estimated at IDR\n327 trillion, yet only approximately IDR 44 trillion, or around 13\npercent, has been realised. This figure demonstrates the substantial\nopportunity that can be optimised through collaboration between zakat\ninstitutions, philanthropic organisations, and government so that this\npotential can deliver broader impact for society.<\/p>\n<p>As part of implementing this initiative, various social programmes\nare being implemented across several priority regions. One such\nprogramme is Selasar Hangat, which forms part of the Indonesia Berdaya\ninitiative in expanding assistance distribution to the poor and\ndestitute.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is being implemented simultaneously across eight\nprovinces with the highest poverty rates: East Java, West Java, Central\nJava, North Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, Lampung, and\nBanten.
