        "content": "<p>The Deputy for Commerce and Digital Economy Coordination at the\nCoordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ali Murtopo Simbolon, has\nrevealed that the substantial flow of technology investment has\npositioned Indonesia as one of the primary digital investment\ndestinations in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Over recent years, Indonesia, which possesses the largest digital\neconomy in ASEAN, has demonstrated significant growth. The value of the\nnational digital economy is projected to reach more than USD130 billion\nby 2026, with internet penetration of approximately 79.5 per cent of the\ntotal population.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by Deputy Ali during the Soft Launching event of the\nASOCIO Digital AI Summit 2026 and ASOCIO Digital Award, sometime\nago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis development places Indonesia as one of the primary digital\ninvestment destinations in Southeast Asia, with increasing investment\nflows in the technology and digital infrastructure sectors. To ensure\ndigital transformation and the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence\n(AI) can deliver optimal impact for the national economy, the Government\nis also continuously strengthening the development of digital human\nresources (HR) as the principal foundation of the future economy,\u201d he\nsaid, as quoted from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs\npress release, Monday (16 March).<\/p>\n<p>Strengthening the digital economy and developing cutting-edge\ntechnology such as AI has become a key factor in driving productivity\nimprovements, industrial efficiency, and national economic\ncompetitiveness at the global level. Within this framework, AI is\npositioned as part of a \u201cnew engine of growth\u201d that will accelerate the\ntransformation of various economic sectors. AI technology will not only\ndrive operational efficiency and innovation in the business world but\nwill also create opportunities for new business models, increased\nindustrial value addition, and development of a more dynamic and\nsustainable digital economic ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the Indonesian Government through the Coordinating\nMinistry for Economic Affairs is collaborating with the Asian Oceanian\nComputing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) to host the ASOCIO Digital AI\nSummit 2026 on 29-31 July 2026 in Jakarta. This event will serve as a\nprincipal forum for government agencies, technology industry players,\nacademics, and innovators to strengthen regional collaboration in the\ndevelopment of artificial intelligence and digital economy in the\nAsia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>Under the theme \u201cHybrid Intelligence Unbound: Reimagining Innovation,\nInfrastructure and Regional Sovereignty\u201d, the ASOCIO Digital AI Summit\n2026 forum will focus on a number of strategic agendas, including\ndigital transformation and AI adoption for national and regional\ndevelopment, strengthening AI governance standards and technology\nethics, developing inclusive and resilient digital infrastructure,\nincreasing the involvement of SMEs in the digital ecosystem, and\nstrengthening technology investment and new market opportunities in the\nregion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs host of the ASOCIO Digital AI Summit 2026, Indonesia wishes to\nestablish this forum as a foundation for future AI development.
