        "content": "<p>Speaking at Friday\u2019s closing session in Jaipur, Trade Minister Budi\nSantoso said Indonesia supports a more inclusive, open, transparent and\nequitable multilateral trading system that can respond to shifts in\nglobal trade.<\/p>\n<p>Santoso said achieving that goal requires a WTO that remains \u201cstrong,\ninclusive, and adaptive to global challenges,\u201d according to a statement\nreceived in Jakarta on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time, it is vital that BRICS countries continue pursuing\nconcrete cooperation that directly impacts the economic growth of\ndeveloping nations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Santoso also pledged Indonesia\u2019s support for BRICS initiatives to\nexpand financing for micro, small and medium enterprises, strengthen\nsupply chains and accelerate digital transformation, particularly in\ndeveloping economies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis approach is important to stimulate more inclusive and\nsustainable economic growth,\u201d Santoso said, adding that cooperation\nshould deliver tangible benefits.<\/p>\n<p>He made the remarks alongside counterparts from Brazil, Russia,\nIndia, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the\nUnited Arab Emirates, discussing four priorities for trade\ncooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The first was strengthening multilateral trade, keeping the WTO at\nthe system\u2019s core while advancing development priorities, special\ntreatment for developing economies and a two-tier dispute settlement\nsystem.<\/p>\n<p>The second focused on helping MSMEs expand globally through more\naccessible financing, including a proposed BRICS invoice-discounting\nmechanism designed to improve access to working capital and support\ninternational sales.<\/p>\n<p>The third covered a work plan on BRICS\u2019 shared understanding of\nglobal value chains, including document digitalization, stronger\nconnectivity, special economic zones and industrial capacity building\nmeasures.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth agenda addressed BRICS principles for digitally delivered\ncross-border services, seeking deeper trade ties while expanding digital\nskills and strengthening developing economies through greater\nparticipation in digital commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia\u2019s position reflects its broader effort to use BRICS\ncooperation to support developing economies while preserving an open,\nrules-based trading system centered on the WTO and promoting practical\ntrade facilitation across borders and shared prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia urges rules-based trade to boost MSMEs at\nBRICS meeting<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Minister seeks stronger Indonesia-India market access,\ninvestment<\/p>\n<p>Translator: M.
