        "content": "<p>Several regions are currently being hit by drought. In various parts\nof Java, numerous rivers and reservoirs have experienced a decrease in\nwater levels. This decline has even led to the phenomenon of\nlong-submerged graves and building remains being revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Due to these conditions, many members of the community feel\nthreatened. The lack of rainfall has left residents wary regarding the\nsupply and availability of water in their wells.<\/p>\n<p>Quoting detikSumbagsel, the Jambi Provincial Government, alongside\nlocal residents, held Salat Istisqa (a prayer for rain) to plead for\nrainfall amidst the long dry season. This effort was undertaken amidst\nongoing forest and land fires (karhutla) and haze. The Salat Istisqaa\nwas held at the Garuda Field, Jambi Governor\u2019s Office, on Wednesday\nmorning (2\/9\/2026), conducted with great hope for rain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe implementation of Salat Istisqa is our form of effort to pray to\nAllah SWT to bring rain immediately. We have been hit by drought for\napproximately five months, and we are now beginning to feel its impact,\u201d\nsaid Jambi Governor Al Haris following the prayer service.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, several points in Indonesia are already experiencing\nextreme drought due to this year\u2019s prolonged dry season. In Dompu, West\nNusa Tenggara, almost 2,000 families are affected by the drought and can\nonly rely on water supplies from the local BPBD (Regional Disaster\nManagement Agency) to meet their daily needs. Similarly, around 33,000\npeople in Pandeglang, Banten, are experiencing the same situation.<\/p>\n<p>In this condition, the Jakarta Provincial Government has established\nsafeguards to face the drought. As reported by detikNews, Jakarta\nGovernor Pramono Anung has requested all levels of the Jakarta\nProvincial Government to increase preparedness in facing the El Ni\u00f1o\nphenomenon. This is based on BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and\nGeophysics Agency) forecasts predicting that El Ni\u00f1o will persist until\nJanuary 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Jakarta Provincial Government is holding the \u2018Apel Jaga Jakarta\u2019\nto anticipate potential fire handling in Jakarta, facing El Ni\u00f1o which\nis predicted to last until the end of September, and BMKG even predicts\nit will last until January 2027,\u201d said Pramono.<\/p>",
