Several cases of fraud involving national banks have emerged
\namid the effort to restore the national economy and the process
\nof leadership selection of the Corruption Eradication Commission
\n(KPK).<\/p>\n
In dealing with the bank theft, the Attorney General's Office
\nshould order a special examination by independent auditors, which
\nwould earn this institution credit points and finally deal with
\nits negative image.<\/p>\n
With intellectual actors behind the scandals -- mostly old
\nfaces involved in previous banking embezzlement -- all law
\nenforcement agencies should have the courage to take stern
\nmeasures.<\/p>\n
Unless this crime is tackled seriously and corruptors are
\nsubject to legal action, domestic and international confidence in
\nthe national banking system will dwindle, which will harm the
\nnational economic recovery.<\/p>\n
Without a proper response to the public apathy and pessimism,
\nthe commission would not be that different to other agencies of
\nits kind, and the attempt to totally eliminate corruption would
\nnever materialize. Wouldn't we be ashamed of holding on to the
\ntitle of corruption \"champion\"?<\/p>\n
