        "content": "<p>Jakarta, Kompas.com \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Defence Minister Sjafrie\nSjamsoeddin has stated that Indonesia will demonstrate to the world its\ncommitment to the role of Deputy Commander of the International\nStabilisation Force (ISF).<\/p>\n<p>According to Sjafrie, the potential of TNI (Indonesian National Armed\nForces) officers is considered capable of fulfilling the mandate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that potential and achievement will be demonstrated\ninternationally. That is why we have proposed that one of our senior\nofficers could participate in supporting the ISF,\u201d said Sjafrie when met\nat the Ministry of Defence in Central Jakarta on Thursday (12 March\n2026).<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the identity of the ISF Deputy Commander, Sjafrie\ndeclined to disclose the name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot yet. That is the responsibility of the Commander,\u201d he\nasserted.<\/p>\n<p>Sjafrie explained that TNI personnel joining the ISF will be\norganised at the strength of one Brigade Plus. He stated that ideally\nIndonesia is ready to prepare up to 20,000 personnel. However, because\nother countries are sending only hundreds of personnel, Indonesia is\npreparing approximately 8,000 soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sjafrie, the deployment of these troops will be carried\nout in phases due to their considerable number.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut what is most important is that if the situation does not\nconflict with national interests, we will proceed with the operation,\u201d\nhe explained.<\/p>\n<p>It was previously reported that the Commander of the International\nStabilisation Force (ISF) Major General Jasper Jeffers III announced\nthat Indonesia has agreed to serve as Deputy Commander of the\nInternational Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza. He announced this at\nthe Board of Peace (BoP) summit at the Donald J. Trump US Institute of\nPeace in Washington DC, United States, on Thursday (19 February 2026)\nlocal time.<\/p>\n<p>Jeffers also stated that Indonesia is one of five countries that have\ncommitted to sending troops to join the ISF. Two other countries have\nalso committed to training their police forces, namely Egypt and\nJordan.<\/p>",
