On Another Embassy bomber gets death penalty, published
\nSept. 14, Chief Judge Achmad Sobari had tough words for Iwan
\nDarmawan Mutho and his involvement in the embassy bombing.<\/p>\n
Using religion as a base of an inhumane action destroys the
\nreligion itself. It is greatly fostering negative perspectives
\nagainst Islam.<\/p>\n
For students abroad, the fact that Indonesia is having
\nproblems related to bombings and Islam, it has given us quite a
\nrough path. We are haunted by the shame of our country, as well
\nas all the numerous unfortunate incidents involving foreigners
\nvisiting Indonesia. As we are far from home, we cannot be 100
\npercent sure about our own safety, while we are away from
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Taking the deterrent approach by executing the convicted
\nbombers is another way to eliminate terrorism in our country, and
\nothers. Although, if we eliminate two or three terrorists, there
\nare maybe ten more behind them, planning another attack. In other
\nwords, by executing the terrorists, it also may trigger more
\nterrorism. So, it is basically a battle between the government
\nand the terrorists, but the citizens are the ones who are
\nsuffering.<\/p>\n
