        "content": "<p>Indonesia and South Korea have discussed a strategic partnership\naimed at strengthening the halal certification system, increasing\ninstitutional capacity, and supporting safer, more reliable, and\nglobally competitive trade in halal products. The discussion on\ncooperation in halal product assurance technology and digital-based\nhalal logistics development was conducted by the Halal Product Assurance\nAgency (BPJPH) together with the Korea Agency of HACCP Accreditation and\nServices (KAHAS), the Korea Halal Certification Center (KHCC), GL Halal\nCenter (GLHAC), and representatives of South Korean industry. BPJPH Head\nAhmad Haikal Hasan stated that strengthening technology is a crucial\nfactor in implementing halal product assurance. He noted that digital\ninnovation can be utilised not only to improve the effectiveness of the\nhalal certification system but also to ensure the integrity of halal\nproducts throughout the supply chain through the development of halal\nlogistics. \u2018Collaboration in the field of technology is excellent.\nBesides leveraging digital innovation, we can also expand cooperation on\ndeveloping halal logistics. Thus, the halal integrity of products can be\nmaintained from the production process, storage, to distribution to\nconsumers,\u2019 Haikal explained. He added that halal logistics is an\nimportant aspect of the halal ecosystem because it ensures halal\nproducts are protected from potential contamination during storage,\ntransportation, and distribution. Strengthening this aspect is\nconsidered increasingly strategic amid the rise in cross-border halal\nproduct trade, which demands a more effective and documented supervision\nsystem. Meanwhile, Korea Halal Certification Center (KHCC) Director Seo\nYeon Beom presented various technological innovations to support the\nfood safety assurance system. One such innovation is the application of\nSMART HACCP, a digital technology-based food safety management system\ncapable of conducting more effective analysis and control of Critical\nControl Points (CCP). The system is supported by sensor technology that\nenables real-time and more accurate monitoring, thereby enhancing food\nsafety assurance. According to Seo, this approach also has the potential\nto support the implementation of halal logistics, which is an important\nrequirement in the global halal product trade. He also explained that\nthe development of the halal system in Korea is not only oriented\ntowards fulfilling halal requirements but also prioritises consumer\nprotection. \u2018The concept of halal products also includes consumer\nprotection. Halal means products that are clean, safe, and trustworthy,\u2019\nSeo said.<\/p>",
