        "content": "<p>Indonesia and China have secured business agreements worth US$2\nbillion (Rp 35.87 trillion) during a business forum held at the\nCoordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta. Indonesian\nAmbassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun stated that the forum brought\ntogether approximately 30 Chinese companies operating in future\ntechnology, innovation, renewable energy, and health sectors to meet\nwith Indonesian partners. \u201cI am here with around 30 companies from China\nengaged in future technology, innovation technology, renewable energy,\nenergy transformation, and some in the health sector,\u201d Djauhari said\nduring a press conference on Thursday (23\/7\/2026). He noted that the\nforum successfully secured several new investment agreements expected to\nstrengthen economic cooperation between the two nations.<\/p>\n<p>Djauhari also reported that trade performance between Indonesia and\nChina continues to grow, reaching approximately US$101 billion in the\nfirst half of this year, with Indonesia recording a surplus of US$5.6\nbillion. Total bilateral trade last year amounted to US$168 billion.\nInvestment realisation from China into Indonesia has approached US$10\nbillion as of June, with expectations for continued positive growth\nthrough the end of the year. Beyond investment, cooperation extends to\npayment systems and the use of local currencies in trade transactions,\nwith rupiah and yuan transactions increasing by over 200% from January\nto June 2026. Additionally, the QRIS payment system has been usable\nthroughout mainland China since May.<\/p>\n<p>Shinta Kamdani, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Employers Association\n(Apindo), expressed the private sector\u2019s openness to partnership\nopportunities with Chinese companies. \u201cWe, as Indonesian business\nactors, are ready to cooperate and build partnerships with companies\nfrom China. China is a major trade and investment partner for\nIndonesia,\u201d Shinta said. She emphasised the importance of continuing to\nsupport and identify challenges and opportunities alongside Chinese\ninvestors who have already established operations in Indonesia.<\/p>",
