        "content": "<p>Indonesia and China have agreed to continue encouraging an increase\nin bilateral trade volume, which currently stands at 167 billion US\ndollars, during the first Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue (CSD) between\nthe two countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause that figure does not encompass all the potential held by\nboth countries, we also agreed to continue enhancing cooperation in\ntrade in order to increase the volume and value of that trade,\u201d said\nIndonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Sugiono conveyed this in a joint statement at the first\nIndonesia-China Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue (CSD) at Indonesia\u2019s\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Sugiono also said that both parties welcomed the discussion of the\n2027-2031 Action Plan and agreed to revitalise strategic mechanisms in\nthe fields of trade, energy, minerals, and maritime affairs, as well as\nto explore new mechanisms in quarantine and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will also continue to strengthen cooperation in food security,\nenergy, and minerals through industrial development that supports\nnational resilience,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sugiono also expressed appreciation for China\u2019s investment\ncommitment, including a perfect assessment from a Chinese rating agency\nof Indonesia\u2019s investment climate, which is seen as reflecting strong\nconfidence in the economy and the policies of President Prabowo\nSubianto\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>The two countries also agreed on the continuation of financing for\nBelt and Road projects, including the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed\nRailway, along with alternatives for increasing passenger volume, as\nwell as strengthening cooperation in the financial sector and local\ncurrency transactions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing forward, cooperation will encompass advanced technology and\nartificial intelligence, including the joint development of\ncommunication satellites and several other matters in advanced\ntechnology,\u201d said Sugiono.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the maritime sector, both parties agreed to strengthen\ncollaboration in navigation safety, marine science research, maritime\nsecurity, and capacity building, while people-to-people cooperation will\nbe expanded through increased scholarships for Indonesian students in\nSTEM fields.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Indonesia affirmed its support for China\u2019s leadership of\nAPEC 2026 and the success of the APEC summit in Shenzhen later this\nyear, in line with the shared commitment to building an ASEAN-China\npartnership based on ASEAN centrality.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesia-China Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue (CSD) is a new\nbilateral mechanism at the foreign minister level established during\nForeign Minister Sugiono\u2019s visit to Beijing in April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Following the CSD, Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also\nhosted the 2nd Meeting of the 2+2 Dialogue Mechanism between the Foreign\nMinisters and Defence Ministers of Indonesia and China.<\/p>\n<p>The 2+2 meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation in political,\ndefence, and security fields at bilateral, regional, and global\nlevels.<\/p>\n<p>These two agendas are part of Indonesia and China\u2019s efforts to\nstrengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two\ncountries.<\/p>",
