        "content": "<p>Indonesia and China have officially begun the practical\nimplementation of their new industrial revolution partnership through\nthe opening of the BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest on Thursday, 7\nMay 2026. This event aims to strengthen technological collaboration and\ninnovation between the two countries in strategic industrial\nsectors.<\/p>\n<p>According to Detik Finance, the competition, themed \u2018BRICS Innovation\nand Development: Accelerating the New Industrial Revolution\u2019, highlights\nfour main pillars. The focus areas include artificial intelligence (AI),\ngreen industry, low-altitude space technology, and energy\nelectronics.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 100 projects from Indonesia are participating in this event,\nwith 52 selected teams advancing to the direct presentation stage. The\nwinners from the national selection will represent Indonesia at the\nglobal final held in Xiamen, China.<\/p>\n<p>The International Economic and Technological Cooperation Centre of\nChina\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology serves as the\nmain organiser. Meanwhile, the operational activities are carried out by\nChina-DATANG Corporation Overseas Investment Co., Ltd, with support from\nvarious ministries and organisations in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Jia Bingjun, Director of the International Business Department of\nChina Datang Corporation Limited, emphasised Indonesia\u2019s strategic\nposition in the company\u2019s regional expansion plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia is a key country for overseas development for China Datang\nCorporation,\u201d said Jia Bingjun, Director of the International Business\nDepartment of China Datang Corporation Limited.<\/p>\n<p>His side is committed to continuously increasing investment volumes\nand providing positive impacts on local employment absorption in\nIndonesia\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the future, we will continue to increase the scale of investment\nin Indonesia, create more jobs for the local community, and train more\nprofessionals in the energy field,\u201d stated Jia Bingjun.<\/p>\n<p>Through this competition, China Datang aims to bridge the innovation\necosystems of both countries so that local projects can access global\nresources more broadly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this competition, China Datang hopes to use this platform as\na bridge, connecting Chinese and Indonesian innovation resources,\nhelping Indonesian innovation projects access capital, technology, and\ninternational markets, jointly promoting the development of industrial\ninnovation in both countries, and supporting the construction of the\nBRICS Partnership for the New Industrial Revolution,\u201d concluded Jia\nBingjun.<\/p>\n<p>Cahyo Purnomo, Director of Regional Promotion at the Ministry of\nInvestment and Industrial Downstreaming (BKPM), explained that Indonesia\nrequires advanced technological support to accelerate the current\nindustrial transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia is at a critical stage in accelerating the new industrial\nrevolution and greatly needs advanced technology and innovative\nconcepts,\u201d said Cahyo Purnomo, Director of Regional Promotion at the\nMinistry of Investment and Industrial Downstreaming (BKPM).<\/p>\n<p>Cahyo assessed that the four competition categories align with the\ngovernment\u2019s long-term vision to achieve industrial sovereignty and\nnational economic progress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe four competition tracks are core areas that are currently\npriorities for Indonesia\u2019s development. He hopes that through this\ncompetition, more outstanding local innovation projects can be\nunearthed, while attracting more technology and investment from China,\njointly driving the enhancement of Indonesia\u2019s industry, and supporting\nthe realisation of the national vision \u2018Golden Indonesia 2045\u2019,\u201d said\nCahyo Purnomo.<\/p>\n<p>The evaluation of participants is conducted by 10 cross-country\nexpert judges specialising in areas from energy transition to business\nincubation.
