Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia\u2019s state-owned airport operator PT\nAngkasa Pura (InJourney Airports) is adding 53 flight routes to\nstrengthen national air connectivity and support growth in the\ntransportation and tourism sectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom January to April 2026, 53 new flight routes will be operated at\nvarious airports\u2014consisting of new routes and new flight services,\u201d\nInJourney Airports president director Mohammad R. Pahlevi said in his\nstatement on Saturday.<\/p>\n
During that period, the number of flight routes rose15 percent\ncompared to the same period the previous year, when 46 routes were\nadded.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn example is the new route is Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado to\nNaha Tahuna Airport, which Wings Air will be serving in May 2026,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Additional services include Garuda Indonesia flights from Bali\u2019s I\nGusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika, also\nstarting in May.<\/p>\n
Pahlevi said the expansion of the flight network is a concrete step\nto position airports as agents of development, supporting economic\ngrowth, equity, and tourism. He emphasized that connectivity is key to\npublic mobility and the smooth flow of goods and logistics.<\/p>\n
\u201cInJourney Airports will continue to respond to challenges to ensure\nair connectivity remains sustainable,\u201d he said, noting that rising\naviation fuel prices due to Middle East tensions have affected airfare\nsentiment.<\/p>\n
To address these challenges, the operator is strengthening\ncollaboration with airlines, regulators, and airport operators to expand\nroutes and increase competition.<\/p>\n
As part of regional development, InJourney Airports participated in\nRoutes Asia, holding strategic meetings with 28 airlines and 16\nairports.<\/p>\n
Recent additions include T\u2019way Air\u2019s new service from Soekarno-Hatta\nAirport to Incheon, South Korea, launched on April 29, 2026. Scoot will\nopen routes from Belitung\u2019s HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport to Singapore\u2019s\nChangi Airport in May, and from Pontianak\u2019s Supadio Airport to Changi in\nJune.<\/p>\n
Spring Airlines is scheduled to begin flights from Guangzhou and\nShenzhen, China, to Soekarno-Hatta in June.<\/p>\n
Upcoming routes include Centrum Air flights from Tehran, Uzbekistan,\nto Bali, and Greater Bay Airlines\u2019 inaugural service from Hong Kong to\nSurabaya\u2019s Juanda International Airport.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn terms of international routes, our target within two years is to\nincrease flight frequency on existing services and open new ones. This\nwill lay the foundation for direct long-haul connectivity from\nIndonesian airports,\u201d Pahlevi said.<\/p>\n
