        "content": "<p>Indofood, Medco to issue bonds<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Publicly listed PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, the world's largest<br>\ninstant noodle maker, plans to issue up to Rp 1 trillion (US$111<br>\nmillion) worth of bonds in June to refinance part of its maturing<br>\ndebts.<\/p>\n<p>Head of listing division for the Surabaya Stock Exchange (BES)<br>\nUmi Kalsum told The Jakarta Post on Monday that Indofood would<br>\nsign a preliminary contract with the bourse to list the bonds.<\/p>\n<p>\"We plan to sign a preliminary contract with Indofood this<br>\nweek for the bond issue,\" said Umi, adding that the bond was<br>\nexpected to be issued in June.<\/p>\n<p>Indofood has appointed Trimegah Securities, Danareksa<br>\nSecurities and Bahana Securities as the underwriters of the<br>\nplanned issue. The bonds will have a five-year maturation period.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, publicly listed energy firm PT Medco Energi<br>\nInternasional has also planned to issue bonds worth Rp 1.8<br>\ntrillion in June to raise funds to help finance an acquisition<br>\nplan.<\/p>\n<p>The company has signed a preliminary contract with BES for the<br>\nissue last week, and has appointed Mandiri Securities, and UOB<br>\nSecurities to arrange for the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Medco has planned to acquire Australian energy firm Novus<br>\nPetroleum and two local gas working areas in East Java and<br>\nCentral Sulawesi.<\/p>",
