IndoExchange.com to launch textile portal<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): IndoExchange.com, Indonesia's first Internet
\ncompany that specializes in business and financial information
\nand transactions, will soon launch a textile portal and
\nfacilitate online insurance transactions.<\/p>\n
This portal, which will list around 1,000 companies, will
\nserve as an export promotion center for Indonesian textile and
\ngarment producers and a facility for online business both in the
\ndomestic and international markets, IndoExchange's chief
\noperating officer David Burke told reporters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The portal, Burke added, will provide all information related
\nto the textile and apparel industry in Indonesia and overseas,
\nincluding import quota allocations in major countries.<\/p>\n
\"Hopefully, Indonesian companies will make optimal use of this
\nInternet facility to promote their products overseas and develop
\nnew international contacts,\" Burke said.<\/p>\n
IndoExchange's chief executive officer Cam Walker added that
\nthe textile portal is only one of several additional services and
\nfacilities to be provided by his company.<\/p>\n
\"Our online commerce will also be expanded from share trading
\nto insurance transactions,\" Walker said.<\/p>\n
Walker said IndoExchange's userbase was already broad enough
\nfor enabling its website to serve as a shopfront for various
\nkinds of e-commerce.<\/p>\n
\"In addition to 83,000 registered users, of which 40 percent
\nare from overseas, our website has been getting between 200,000
\nand 500,000 page views per day or 7.5-10 million page views per
\nmonth,\" Walker added.<\/p>\n
IndoExchange, which was established in Jakarta in 1996 as a
\njoint venture company, is the first Website in Asia that
\nspecializes in the provision of business and financial
\ninformation, including realtime stock quotations.<\/p>\n
\"With 400,000 pages (400k) of capital market information,
\nincluding the profiles of all Indonesian listed companies and
\nstockmarket and financial regulations, IndoExchange has been
\nserving as gateway for foreign investors interested in
\nIndonesia,\" Walker added.<\/p>\n
On top of that, he added, IndoExchange also has expanded its
\nalliance with KwikWeb.Com of the United States, a developer of
\nonline software services that allow individuals and businesses to
\ncreate their own web sites using any Web browser or Internet
\nappliance.<\/p>\n
\"With full support from KwikWeb, IndoExchange is now offering
\nsmall and medium companies in Indonesia free services to build up
\ntheir own personalized websites to be included in its business
\ndirectory,\" Burke added.<\/p>\n
KwikWeb chief executive officer Ric Kaestner from California
\nsaid his company would provide IndoExchange with a customized
\nonline web site building for its users, web site hosting and
\nserver set-up.<\/p>\n
\"This strategic alliance will bring KwikWeb online web site
\ncreation tools and customer acquisition software to the
\nIndonesian financial market place,\" Kaestner added.<\/p>",
