Sudirman in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The dance troupe, headed by Usha Venkateswaran, will be<br>\nperforming such well-known pieces as Kathak, Bharat Natyam,<br>\nOdissi and Fantasia.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organized by the Indonesia-India Friendship<br>\nAssociation, is being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of<br>\nIndonesia&apos;s independence.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Indian dances, various Indonesian national<br>\nsongs and folk songs will be presented.<\/p>\n<p>The association is also publishing a book containing<br>\ninterviews and articles by prominent Indonesian freedom fighters<br>\nto ascertain how India encouraged Indonesia in its struggle for<br>\nfreedom.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesia-India Friendship Association was formally<br>\ninaugurated six years ago.
