        "content": "<p>Kompas.com reports the shameless pilfering of their room at the\nAsvara Resort Ubud \u2013 a luxury villa in Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali, by a\ngroup of Indian tourists that was widely exposed on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The video, uploaded to the Internet, shows a hotel staff member\ninspecting the contents of a guest\u2019s suitcase during checkout. Suspected\nof trying to abscond with hotel furnishings and amenities, the hotel\nstaff can be seen checking the contents of a guest\u2019s suitcase. Inside\nthe suitcase, items such as hotel towels and other supplies were\ndiscovered.<\/p>\n<p>The four Indian tourists checked in at the resort on 16 April 2026\nand stayed for 3 nights.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the Gianyar Police, I Gusti Ngurah Suardita, stated\nthat the incident occurred at the Asvara Resort Ubud, Banjar Ayah,\nKelusa Village, Payangan District, Gianyar. Suardita said the incident\noccurred on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at around 10:00 am.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dInformation from the hotel, the guests are four foreign nationals\nfrom India who have been staying since April 16, 2026, by booking two\nrooms,\u201d said Suardita on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The incident was discovered during the check-out process.\nHousekeeping officers found a number of room facilities not in their\nplaces. \u201cItems reported missing include coasters, bath towels, pool\ntowels, hair dryers, kimonos, doormats, television remote boxes, and\ncutlery,\u201d said Suardita.<\/p>\n<p>Hotel staff reported the loss to hotel management, who then delayed\nthe check-out process to seek further clarification from the guests.\nDuring the process, the guests reportedly admitted to having taken the\nitems without permission. They also apologized to the hotel. \u201cThe issue\nwas then resolved amicably.
