Improve service at haj dormitory!<\/p>\n

We have an impression of disorderly service at the Pondok Gede
\nhaj boarding dormitory in East Jakarta. This calls for prompt
\nimprovement and upgrading. With every haj season, boarding houses
\nare the focus of candidates and their families who arrive from
\nmany regions.<\/p>\n
No haj candidates, or their families, should any longer be
\ninconvenienced by the existing rules in the boarding house. There
\nhave been widespread public complaints.<\/p>\n
I too, would like to complain. As a result of un-professional
\nservice, we could not greet our uncle and his wife from Jambi who
\nembarked on the Haj pilgrimage.<\/p>\n
No haj candidates are permitted to receive visitors in the
\nquarters. Visitors are only allowed to go as far as the fence.
\nVisiting family members have to make a special requests to call
\nthe pilgrim. This is done by means of a loudspeaker through which
\nthe would-be haj is paged.<\/p>\n
I requested this service five times between 6:15 to 9:30 p.m.
\nbut to no avail. It turned out that every visitor who wanted to
\nmeet the departing family member, would have to do so via of the
\ngate guard, but at a price. This appeared the most effective way
\nto meet a relative.<\/p>\n
I employed the services of a guard, but did not tip him for
\nit. The man disappeared forever.<\/p>\n
We had wanted to see our uncle so much; we last saw him 15
\nyears ago.<\/p>\n
Under the impression that nobody came to see him, my uncle
\ncalled us at home. My uncle said that during his stay at the haj
\nquarters, he and his wife were never called or contacted by
\nanyone.<\/p>\n
Should \"tips\" of these kind be maintained? Is not this a form
\nof corruption that should be eradicated?<\/p>\n
