During the registration period\nfrom 21 to 31 August 2026, more than 4,000 Micro, Small, and Medium\nEnterprise (MSME) players from various regions across Indonesia\nregistered to participate in this flagship local business development\nprogramme by PT Pertamina (Persero).<\/p>\n
The number of applicants for the Pertamina UMK Academy 2026 has\nincreased sharply, nearly doubling compared to the number of\nparticipants in the 2025 programme. This surge in applicants reflects\nthe enthusiasm of local entrepreneurs for the Pertamina UMK Academy as a\nhigh-impact programme for business development and capability\nenhancement.<\/p>\n
Initiated in 2020, this programme has become one of Pertamina\u2019s\nflagship Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiatives,\nfocusing on the development of communities and local business sectors in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Registered MSMEs will now undergo curation and administrative\nverification, in accordance with specified requirements, to determine\nwhich businesses are eligible to participate in the 2026 Pertamina UMK\nAcademy training series.<\/p>\n
Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero),\nMuhammad Baron, stated that the enthusiasm of over 4,000 applicants\ndemonstrates the strong spirit of Indonesian MSME players to continue\nlearning, self-developing, and increasing their knowledge to enhance\ncompetitiveness.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe enthusiasm of the applicants shows the great spirit of\nIndonesian MSME players to develop their businesses. Through the\nPertamina UMK Academy, participants will not only gain knowledge but\nalso receive guidance to apply their learning directly in accordance\nwith the needs and development of their businesses,\u201d Baron said in a\nwritten statement on Tuesday (1\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
The Pertamina UMK Academy is a structured, multi-stage development\nprogramme consisting of two phases: the Regional Stage and the National\nStage. During the regional stage, participants will receive materials\nand practical training to strengthen the fundamentals of business\nmanagement according to their specific industry sectors.<\/p>\n
Throughout the regional stage, participants\u2019 activity and progress\nwill be continuously monitored by the Accelerator and Mentor Teams. The\nprogress of participants will also be assessed periodically to serve as\na consideration for curating MSMEs that are eligible to proceed to the\nnational stage.<\/p>\n
MSMEs that pass the national stage training will receive more\nintensive learning and guidance based on four \u2018Go\u2019 classes: Go Modern,\nGo Digital, Go Online, and Go Global. National stage participants will\nalso receive two specialised modules regarding \u2018Go Green\u2019 and \u2018Go\nAggregator\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery MSME player has different needs and levels of readiness.\nTherefore, the syllabus, curriculum, and training materials are\nspecifically designed according to the training stages and the business\ndevelopment conditions of the participants so that the programme can\nproduce real, impactful, and measurable changes,\u201d explained Baron.<\/p>\n
From Training to Scaling Up MSMEs<\/p>\n
Over its six years of implementation, the Pertamina UMK Academy has\nassisted thousands of MSME players in learning, growing, and scaling up.\nThe series of programmes includes training, challenges\/games, marketing\npractice, mentoring, coaching, legal\/certification strengthening, and\nfacilities for expanding market access. Participants who successfully\nbecome champions in the national stage training will also receive\nadditional facilities in the form of technological support or production\nequipment with a total value of up to hundreds of millions of\nrupiah.<\/p>\n
One participant who has benefited from the programme is Lidya SP,\nowner of Besolek and the 1st Place winner of the \u2018Go Modern\u2019 class at\nthe 2025 Pertamina UMK Academy. After participating in the training\nseries, Lidya was able to improve production and financial management,\nincrease efficiency, optimise zero-waste practices, and manage digital\nmarketing more consistently.<\/p>\n
\u201cProduction and financial management have become more organised, and\nthe production process is more efficient, making zero-waste more\noptimal,\u201d said Lidly.<\/p>\n
According to Lidya, these changes have also made Besolek\u2019s marketing\ncontent more consistent and professional. Customer interest and trust in\nher products have increased, subsequently driving sales growth.<\/p>\n
