Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo announced restrictions on uploading reports to the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app following an incident where PPSU workers manipulated photos using artificial intelligence to falsify fieldwork in East Jakarta. The measures aim to enhance transparency by limiting uploads to those directly handling complaints, with three involved officers receiving first warnings and a stern personal admonition from the governor. This response underscores the administration's commitment to genuine public service and warns of harsher penalties for future violations, addressing concerns over the integrity of local government operations.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that
his administration will restrict access to uploading reports on the
Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app due to a case of manipulating PPSU work reports
using artificial intelligence (AI) in Kalisari, Pasar Rebo, East
Jakarta.

“Only those who actually handle (the complaints) may upload. We are
improving the system to make it more transparent,” Pramono said after
attending the 2026 Town Hall Meeting at the Grand Theatre of Taman
Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Pramono assessed that the incident of residents’ complaints being
followed up with AI-generated photos tarnishes public services in
Jakarta and must not recur.

To that end, he reminded all officers to work genuinely, not merely
to produce reports to please superiors.

“It must no longer be just about pleasing the leadership, but real
work in the field,” Pramono said.

In this case, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has issued
sanctions to three PPSU officers with first warning letters (SP1).

Pramono admitted to having met directly with the three officers and
giving them a stern warning.

“So there are three people who have received SP1, warning letters,
and earlier I met each of them personally. And I conveyed that this is
their last chance if they still want to work in DKI Jakarta,” Pramono
revealed.

He emphasised that if similar violations occur again, the DKI Jakarta
Provincial Government will impose stricter sanctions.
",
