The Directorate General of Immigration has uncovered a human\nsmuggling case to Australia. Three Pakistani nationals (WN) with\ninitials SA, MS, and MWK have been designated as suspects.<\/p>\n
The trio planned to smuggle people via sea routes in eastern\nIndonesia. They were arrested in October last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe three individuals were secured on 10 October 2025 by our PPNS,\nthe Civil Service Investigators in the Directorate General of\nImmigration, on suspicion of immigration criminal acts,\u201d said Director\nGeneral of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, during a press conference\nat the Ministry of Immigration in South Jakarta on Monday\n(20\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
The case began when the Aru Resort Police arrested four Pakistani\nnationals with initials SK, AS, MS, and SUR at a guesthouse in the Dobo\narea, Maluku, in September 2025. The four victims claimed they were\nattracted by an offer from one of the suspects via social media.<\/p>\n
The victims entered using visitor visas. After arriving in Indonesia,\nthey were housed in a rented accommodation in Tangerang, Banten, before\ncontinuing their journey to Ambon, Saumlaki, and Dobo.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen around July 2025, SK met SA, a Pakistani national, at a\nlocation in Tangerang Regency. After seeing an advertisement offer with\npromises of legal departure to Australia through SA\u2019s social media\naccount,\u201d said Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement,\nYuldi Yusman, during the press conference.<\/p>\n
On 15 December 2025, an investigation warrant was issued against SA,\nMS, and MWK. They were subsequently named as suspects on 18 February\n2026 and underwent investigation.<\/p>\n
On 10 April 2026, the case files for the three suspects were declared\ncomplete (P21) by the Attorney General\u2019s Office of the Republic of\nIndonesia. They are charged under Article 120 paragraph (1) of Law No.\u00a06\nof 2011 on Immigration, referring to Article 457 of Law No.\u00a01 of 2023 on\nthe Criminal Code, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and fines\nup to Rp1.5 billion.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe three Pakistani suspects, along with their evidence, will be\nhanded over to the Tangerang Regency District Attorney\u2019s Office to\nundergo the judicial process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
