        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 Imlek Festival Chairperson Irene Umar announced\nthat the Imlek Festival 2577\u2013Harmoni Imlek Nusantara is offering free\nhealth checks (Cek Kesehatan Gratis\/CKG) to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore shopping, there are free health checks. Anyone with an\nidentity card can go straight in for a free health check, and this is no\nhalf-measure,\u201d said Irene at the opening of the Imlek Festival\n2577\u2013Harmoni Imlek Nusantara at Lapangan Banteng, Jakarta, on\nSunday.<\/p>\n<p>Irene, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, said\nthe available screenings range from blood tests to ultrasounds for\nbreast and cervical examinations.<\/p>\n<p>A booth operated by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is also open until\n6pm for those wishing to donate blood.<\/p>\n<p>She described the inclusion of free health checks at the festival as\na form of empowerment through the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond public health, Irene emphasised that the festival was\norganised to showcase the nation\u2019s diversity and its capacity to live\nharmoniously, through cultural acculturation and the performances on\ndisplay.<\/p>\n<p>The event was also seen as a concrete demonstration of the meaning\nbehind Indonesia\u2019s national motto, \u201cBhinneka Tunggal Ika\u201d (Unity in\nDiversity).<\/p>\n<p>The choice of Lapangan Banteng as the venue was deliberate, given its\nlocation in the heart of the capital as an egalitarian public space.\nSituated between Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral Church, it serves as\na symbol of tolerance and represents the spirit of unity and interfaith\nharmony.<\/p>\n<p>With Imlek coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, the festival is\nhoped to serve as a space for reflection among religious communities and\nthe wider public.<\/p>\n<p>The festival programme includes a Lantern Festival, a Culinary\nMarket, Arts and Crafts displays, an Open Museum on Chinese-Indonesian\nCultural Acculturation, free health checks, and various film-themed\nornaments ranging from \u201cJumbo\u201d to \u201cPelangi di Mars\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The peak celebration is set for 28 February 2026, featuring a mass\nbarongsai and liong (lion and dragon dance) performance, traditional\nmusic and dance shows, appearances by national artists, and symbols of\nnational harmony and unity.<\/p>",
